3) RE-DRILLED YOUR WELL? Our Water Attorney would like a list to present to OWRD in our fight. Email us at: SaveChehalemMountain@gmail.com.
4) NEED VOLUNTEERS: We need more bodies to help us protect our homes & community from the fire danger & loss of water. We need volunteers to get the word out and work on existing committees related to fire, water, etc. For example: right now we are working on getting this area designated “FireWise”. With last year’s blaze, it is important that we take precautionary measures. Firewise USA® – How to become a Firewise USA® site (nfpa.org). Stay tuned for more.
5) HOUSE BILL 3239: No flammable chemical cannabis processing in Rural Oregon. 114 of you wrote letters, THANK YOU! This Bill has been moved to the short session and a work group has been organized to push this effort forward. The following groups were AGAINST this bill: 1,000 Friends of Oregon, OLCC, Oregon Industrial Hemp Farmers Assoc, Oreon Farm Bureau.
6) YAMHILL COUNTY “MARIJUANA TIME, PLACE & MANNER REGULATIONS”: thank you to the volunteers working with Yamhill County Commissioners/Planners/Attorney to formally adopt safety measures called Marijuana Time, Place & Manner Regulations. These are sensible guildlines County Commissioners are given the authority to adopt under HB 3400 designed to protect citizens, the environment, quality of life, home values and the lives of First Responders. Almost every other County in Oregon has adopted these measures. Example Clackamas County https://www.clackamas.us/planning/marijuana.html
Thank you for continuing to get the word out. As always we appreciate your attention and support. We are strongest when we work together. Let’s continue to stay aware and up to date about the issues in our immediate area. Have a fantastic weekend!
